Course Objectives

A.)  My short term goals for this class would be to set up all the Twitter, Friend Feed, Epals and blog accounts because this will enable me to connect with people all over the world. It is important for me to do this because if I don’t have the ability to make connections I will not be able to improve my Spanish and that means that I won’t be improving my understanding of Spanish. (This will take me two to three weeks)

B.) In order to achieve my short term goal I will have to

• join Twitter, Friend Feed, Epals and set up my blog
• I will need to keep updating and checking each of these pages

C.) I will know when I completed this project when I can log into all of my different accounts and when I’m updating my Twitter, Epals, Friend Feed and blog frequently.

A.) My mid term goal would be to make about 5 connections with students from different Spanish speaking countries so I could start improving my Spanish. Some countries I am interested in learning about are Spain and Costa Rica. Also I would like to be talking with these people very often so I can learn more about their culture and so I can teach them a little bit about the American way of life. This is really important because it is the best way for me to improve my vocabulary, fluency and learn more about other parts of the world. (This will take me about eight to ten weeks)

B.) To achieve this goal I’m going to have to

• work on reaching out to more people in different countries using the tools that i have
• talk to the people I connect with
• update my blogs and posts frequently

C.) I will know when I have achieved this goal when I am starting to have conversations with different native speakers and am starting to form connections.

A.) My long term goal for this course would be to be able to have a semi fluent conversation with someone from another Spanish speaking country. This means that I will have to be able to keep up a good conversation, not just the basic “hola” or “como estas.” (This will take me about 15 to 16 weeks)

B.) To complete my long term goal I will have to

• really work on making connections and talking to my connections frequently
• talk to the people I meet at least twice a week
• learn new vocabulary and the slang that different countries use

C.)  I will know when I have completed this goal when I feel comfortable speaking Spanish and when I have the conversation transcripts to prove it.
